Mortgage offer conditions

Options
Hi, I was hoping for some advice with regards to my current situation. I am in the process of selling and buying, as part of the affordability for the new mortgage I was told that I would need to pay a loan and a credit card off to be able to proceed to offer. I stated that I would pay the commitments and my mortgage application was submitted. I have received a mortgage offer through from the NatWest with conditions attached, none of which refer to the need to pay back the commitments mentioned. Am I right in thinking if the NatWest wanted these commitments paying back they would be listed in the conditions of offer or special conditions box on the offer itself?

All that is listed is the following....
1. There has no been no material changes in your circumstances since the date of this offer, which we were not aware of, which could affect your ability to afford the loan. By this, we mean a change to your circumstances which, had we known about it at the time of making this offer, might have resulted in us being unable to provide the offer to you or only been able to provide the offer to you for a lower amount.

2. None of the information which you have provided as part of your application for the loan and which we have used to decide whether to provide the offer to you is untrue, inaccurate or incomplete or that you have not withheld information which we have requested from you as part of your application for the loan which, if we had received this information, might have resulted in us being unable to provide the offer to you or only been able to provide the offer to you for a lower amount..

Although I can pay the commitments back I would be financially better off if I didn't have to. The way it reads to me is that NatWest are saying here is your mortgage offer, we are aware of the commitments you have, continue to pay them and don't do anything to change your circumstances prior to completion....

I obviously don't want to rock the boat with the NatWest at this time...

Have you got a copy of your Mortgage application?
Usually the 2 would marry up.

  • No I don't, I have a report with my needs and circumstances etc on which states these are to be paid back, however nothing on the actual offer. I wonder if they have taken into account my current commitments into account and are happy for these to continue and have offered the mortgage?
