Have you tried joining a local freecycle group. You often find things like that are being offered for nothing.0

Hi, I would reccomend the Lower-end 'Lexmark' usually about £30. They do the job a treat. (If poss buying online ususually works out cheaper.)
They are colour printers. How they work is...
-They take 2 cartdirges: COLOUR (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow inks) and BLACK for standard B&W prints.
The way lexmark work... They include a Colour cartrdige, BUT NO BLACK!!! so either all your colour runs out just to print black, or you have to purchase a BLACK cartridge, for about £30
the same price as the printer.
... shop around to buy a un-branded one, or one from a refill shop, or buy one and a refill kit....
What i do is.... BUY A BLACK REFILL KIT about £5, will last loads of refills, prob good for over year.
Also Lexmark, DOES NOT include a USB cable
(A to
if you purcahse one from the big stores, currys dixons pcworld, they charge A BOMB! £12ish, buy online or in a independent shop for a few quid, (once i saw them in poundland
Alternatively share the USB cable from another item u may already have. - remember A to B, slot on one side for PC, square on the otherside for Printer.
So in summary.... get a cheap - USB cable / Refill kit / and cartrdige
Buy a cheap Lexmark , and for about £40/50 you are set to print for the whole year.
(If you see other good deals also check out price of cartdiges/whats included/and usb cable)
Might not be the best solution, but hope it helps... Hypernetics0 -

canon pixma ip1000. Costs around £25/30, but the major bonus is that it's colour and the refills are only £1/£1.20."A banker is a fellow who lends you his umbrella when the sun is shining, but wants it back the minute it begins to rain." Mark Twain0

Good price, not in stock for home delivery but I found they had them at my local stores.
