Its finally time

Hi Everyone

My names Scott and I was advised to join here for advice so i thought i would create a diary for my journey to become debt free.

In 2008 I met a girl and we hit it off and I thought she was the one I would settle down with. At the time I was unemployed and walked around in a pair of dress pants and a shirt like I was a old man in a social club.

I was that besotted with this girl that I knew I had to change my appearance and get a job to keep her, I ended up getting a job with the NHS in their call centre and that's when the problems began. it was like she seen the £££ signs.

My bank card was kept in her cupboard and I had to ask for my own money for dinners at work ect.

We ended up getting our own flat in Feb 2011 which lasted a month as we split up and I moved back to my fathers house but obviously we still had to pay the rent so it was £210 a month each, we had a few months apart but when it came to handing the keys back in July 2011 we ended up talking and getting back together which in hindsight was a massive mistake as within a month she was back to her old tricks again. Our bond from the flat was refunded back to her bank account and I didn't see a penny of it even though I paid it in full.

We were on and off for that year until we finally split up for good in October 2011, I was exhausted from arguing mentally and physically. I just couldn't do it any more.

I stayed at my job with the NHS and one dinnertime on my lunch break in March 2012 while checking my on-line banking Barclay's were offering personal loans, I applied thinking I wouldn't be approved and BANG £10000 in my account within 10 mins. I was like the cat who got the cream.

That's where my problems started.

I stupidly thought that myself and my then ex would get back together and live happily ever after as you do. but for some reason it just didn't feel right I didn't want it to happen.

I ended up spiralling into depression and left my job at the NHS which obviously left me unable to pay my debts so I turned to the dreaded payday loans, Quickquid, Wonga, Payday UK, Lending Stream to name a few.

In 2012 I went from being in a £1700 per month job to nothing with nearly £16000 in debt

I met my new partner who is now my Wife in late 2011 and honestly if I hadn't of met her then I don't think I would be here today, we had a baby daughter in Feb 2013 and married in July 2013.

I buried my head in the said so to speak and ignored all my debts, letters ect until now.

Its time to move on from the past and become debt free

Current Debts

If you've got this far then tank you so much for reading.

Scott
