    I've been Money Tipped!
I reckon they'll be okay. I found a chocolate in DS2s Christening cup dating May 2005 and that was fine last night (don't I sound a complete chocoholic)
    That's Numberwang!

Sometimes chocolate can get little white spots on it if it is out of date.
Call me a cynic but how convenient of the manufacturer to make the expiry date November not December......

I would tend to agree with Clutterfree... funny how it just missed the december cut off? I think not.

    I would eat it.

Whilst we are talking advent calendars... I bought the little advent stockings in tesco, they were £3.97 and will last until they break. All I have to do is fill them up with little treats. I have bought a box of magical elves from the cash & carry and am going to put some of those in (they are chocolate with popping candy and my littlie loves them, monkey!) and I was going to put little pennies in the other ones for her bank... so that she isn't getting chocolate every day. She won't really understand it anyway, she's only 16 months :)

    I'd eat it too!

Worse case scenario...if, on 1st Dec when the first door is opened, the chocolate looks dodgy, go out and buy new calendars and, since it'll be December by then, the new ones will have all been greatly reduced in price :D
  • They'll be fine! So true about the expiry dates - designed so you don't buy reduced ones in Dec to put away for next year.
Little white spots are totally safe - just the cocoa butter separating which happens due to temperature change - ooops I know too much about chocolate!!

I am told that a well known make puts the date it rolls off production line but the year on. But infact kept in the right conditions should still be perfect at 18 months.

  • If you are not sure you could always open the box at the top. take old chocolates out (eating them on the way) melt some new chocolate and refill the molds!
However this may work out more expensive than buying a new one (but more fun for you)
Only two big facts are known for certain: you are on a large, spinning rock hurtling through lonely space at about 67,000 mph, and one day your body is going to die. Will a new pair of shoes really help? :p

As long as they've been kept relatively cool, there should be no white cocoa marks, and should be fine to eat. Enjoy!
