So there I was in a IF set-up - moved to them a year ago on a 1 year 4.8% fixed rate with the expectation they would offer us options once the fixed rate has gone. Well having heard nothing i chased them up and they say all they can do is 7.2% variable - they must be joking! So i need to remortgage in 4 weeks or thereabouts.
We/I have excellent credit rating, lots of equity in the house, decent salary - quote a big mortgage in the £250-350k bracket.
What do people suggest - i think rates will edge slightly down over the next 12 months and then who knows
Any help appreciated
David

I'm NO expert but I just changed to ING until I find out where the rates are going. No set up or legal fee's and free to leave at ANY time. Current tracker rate is 6.24% which is 0.49% above base rate.
Very simple process it was too. I intend to jump when I feel the time is right and the rates and arrangement fee's drop.0
