I agree. This government (and the coalition that came before) have skewed taxes far more heavily onto higher earners while massively increasing the wages of low earners yet they are still seen by some as favouring the rich.

The political landscape now just won’t allow the top rate of tax to drop to where it was under Labour, or for higher earners to be able to fund their pension again.

The 2015 scheme is CARE for all NHS employees. What encourages early retirement is complex, LTA is only one part of this.
