Clerical Medical AVC

Hi, as the title suggests I have an AVC from Clerical Medical. It was the replacement for an old Equitable Life AVC. It's worth c.£50k now so not unsubstantial although I haven't contributed for years. It's on a lifestyle plan and it is assuming I'm retiring in 2.5 years so is moving money into more cautious funds. I'll probably retire in a year or so. I think it was originally linked to my DB pension but I've asked the pension administrator for some details and without my asking they have asked if I want to transfer it to another 'approved arrangement'. It'll be going into my drawdown pot that will be around until at least until SP age (10 years time) and I don't need the funds any time soon.
Any thoughts? Maybe a SIPP or PP with a bit more risk? Stay where I am but switch funds? I've no idea what the performance of these funds or charges are (I've just noticed Clerical Medical is Scottish Widows). I also don't know if they do drawdown.
thanks in advance
