New Build - Credit Check upon completion

Options
Hi,

i have a mortgage agreed with Natwest on a new build which is due to complete mid/late Nov 18.

i have heard stories of you get credit checked again prior to completion, this makes sense to stop people getting too much burden of debt prior to getting a house etc.

my question is, is this check a soft check (like your DIP/AIP) or is it a full check like when you gain a mortgage?

thanks

It can be a full check.

Don't go taking out any new credit commitments between now and completion.
  • i wont be - i just wondered what the check would be. thanks

I completed April this year with Natwest, newbuild, helptobuy 20%. NO credit search was carried out on completion. Apart from the hard search for the DIP, then a further soft search when the application went in, that was the only searches done. Applied in October 17 and completed April 18.

Some people run the risk, others don't.

    Hope this helps
