Is someone liable to Stamp Duty if they take mortgage on and remove ex's name from the deeds?

Is this ex - a married ex or just an ex non- married partner?

Unmarried, bought the house last year together, ex is buying me out of mortgage.

If joint owners are unmarried and not in a civil partnership when they transfer an interest in land or property from one joint owner to another then you may have to pay SDLT.

There is a few examples there, find the one that best fits your situation.

No I cannot as it's not clear to me.
Property value is £350k, purchased last August, ex owns second property valued at £160k approx.
