Currently wowing audiences around the country, this brand new British musical about love, friendship, ambition and betrayal, packed with everyone’s favourite Take That hits, including the Number One smashes Relight My Fire, Pray, Back For Good, Babe and, of course, Never Forget is released to own on DVD on 12 November by Universal Pictures.
A wildly funny and entertaining musical which you will want to watch and sing along to again and again, this DVD is the perfect Christmas present for both Take That fans and theatregoers alike.
Written by the popular Danny Brocklehurst (Shameless, Clocking Off), Never Forget is the story of Ash Sherwood (Dean Chisnall – The Woman In White), an aspiring singer-songwriter struggling to make it on the Manchester music scene when he meets manager Ron Freeman (Teddy Kempner – Bad Girls) who is searching for a group of willing lads he can mould into his very own version of the ultimate boy band: Take That. However, instead of the fame hungry puppets he wanted, Freeman soon realises that he has instead recruited five creative and original characters – each committed to the group for their own reasons.
There is Ash, who after years of wasting his talent in dingy clubs is chasing the prize money that might help save his mum’s struggling pub and pay for his wedding to Chloe (Nancy Sullivan – Footballer’s Wives); Jake ‘The Face’ Turner (Craig Els – Spamalot), a sharp witted, wannabe ladies man hoping the band will get him out of his dead end job; Adrian Banks (Tim Driesen - Mamma Mia), an introverted bank manager, hopelessly attempting to win over his adulterous wife; Dirty Harry (Eaton James – Miss Saigon), a dim yet endearing stripper looking to recover his self respect; and Jose Reize (Stephane Anelli – Saturday Night Fever), a wide-eyed and optimistic Spaniard, who has travelled to England to make something of himself. Having been brought together by Ron with promises of world domination the boys quickly form a genuine bond. However, the arrival of ambitious record executive Annie Borrowman (Alexis Owen-Hobbs – Grease, Chicago) throws this bond into doubt and tests their loyalty and friendship.
Fans are currently clamouring for tickets to the show that takes you on a roller coaster ride of emotions; from ensemble choruses singing an arousing rendition of Babe in the pouring rain to the fiery special effects with a sizzling re-enactment of Re-light My Fire that has audiences singing and dancing in the aisles. You can be sure that this feel-good DVD will be one you’ll NEVER FORGET!
