Whilst the wife has kicked me out over the debt situation, my daughter has bought a car and loaned it to me, its worth £4K, as i cant insure a vehicle im not registered as keeping (on the V5) is it at risk from the OR if they do a search through DVLA and find my name on the logbook?
ive no assets of my own, obviously it would be madness to lose my dughters £4000 car.
do they (the OR) search the dvla databse?
as it says on a V5 "the registered KEEPER may not be the legal OWNER"

The OR's do request info from the DVLA to check that you haven't tried to do anything dodgy by transferring a vehicle prior to BR.
But the V5 is correct, "the registered KEEPER may not be the legal OWNER".
If your daughter has retained the paperwork regarding the financial purchase of the vehicle then the OR has no reason/cause or right to claim any of it.
However, whether you are permitted the expenditure to run and maintain the vehicle is another matter.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

            NIGHTMARES!
i bought a van may 2004, on 3 years hp, i handed it back under my rights on the agreement in november 2006, i had no payment for that, it just meant the hp was settled, the forms want to know what its worth, is it taxed and where it is!
i sold my other van in august this year, in fact, to be precise, it had £5000 of outstanding credit on it, the new owner simply paid the debt off for me, i received no payment at all, now ive got to supply all the details for that too, would they snatch it off the new owner?
 christ this could get nasty!0

I'm sure someone experienced will be along, we felt the same as we thought more and more about OH going bancrupt, making teh decision and getting to where we are tomorrow going to the court has been a real emotional rollercoaster, worrying about everything, some days feeling great cos we have faced our problems then hitting rock bottom because it seems so difficult and scary.
Use thsi forum for support and ask as many questions, i have found out the more i know about the procedure etc the more confident and less scary it feels and the silly thing its not even me going to have to go through it.
Best WishesWe love what we are doing and we love why we're doing it!!0
