Lowell default help

Hi all I am fighting Lowell over an old provident loan they sent pre action form and I asked for all information to be sent they have sent me a letter stating that provident can’t find default notice but the are saying it was 22nd October 2012 the proof of last payment they have was 12 June 2012 they have given me 30 days and will then continue with the pre action process my credit file also shows last update 7th April 2015 which will be wrong as well and is causing my credit score to be low is this SB what is best to do I need to get this done this week thank you for any help or advice

If last payment was June 12th 2012, then the account has already passed its statute barred date.
The cause of action date, in this case, is the last payment date, not the default date.
