What on earth are you talking about?
Have you ever worked in an office based environment, where you use a computer?
Have you ever worked in an office where the software is specific to that industry sector?
Have you ever used a computer - well the answer to that is quite obviously "yes", because you are on this forum;)
Have you ever been trained on work specific software?
Have you ever trained someone on work specific software?
There are large, respected software companies who use people working from home (like myself), who are very experienced and can provide online support to their clients, helping them in their time of need and sorting out problems, providing training.
Now, would you like to rethink what you have said?

Agreed, a family member does this from home. Clients call in and he helps them sort out their computer problems. Very well paying job.
  • Hi sorry hadn't seen your reply

I dont think I can put the job as thats spam but it was telesales / customer service - was home based so recruitment not restricted to geographical area. Only technical stipulation was that the employee has broadband/WIFI so that our telephony system can work.

I think that the bit Comms69 was objecting to was the remote log in - which is something you really shouldn't allow unless you're talking to someone very well trusted. Offering it as part of a full training/support package is likely to go over better than a standalone "Let me log in and fix your computer" which is exactly the line telephone scammers use...

    Where did I suggest that?
Anyone who works in an office based environment, using industry specific software would know what I am talking about.

You didn't - Comms did! You're talking about different things :)

The most frustrating thing for employers when we are recruiting for home workers is that the majority of candidates seem to be looking for MLM opportunities rather than a "normal" job thats just carried out at home rather than in an office.

Last week I posted a number of ads on social media "work from home forums" offering PT up to FT hours, with good OTE and benefits and we hardly got a sniff. Yet on the same forums a post from some Great Granny in Walsall offering a chance to "join me in the crypto currency block chain congo party - this is not a scam" must have had a hundred PM'd you babe replies.

    strange times :money:
Hi. I have been looking for a job working from home for a while now. Whilst trawling the net for possible vacancies, I noticed this reply from yourself. I was wondering if you would keep me in mind if anything else was to become available please ? Kind regards, Joanne

Try searching 'Remote Working' on Indeed.
(I know this thread has been resurrected due to Spam - but this might help someone in these times).
  • I've worked at home twice (before Covid) and both times it was for employers I had already worked for for a couple of years so they knew they didn't need to sit on my shoulder to ensure I put in a day's work. Work at home from scratch jobs tend to be dodgy, I've fielded a few of those myself, you may end up with a huge phone bill or worse.
  • I have worked from home for 10+ years.
