E: 25/10 Win a £50 box of fresh fish, collect Amble, Northumberland

As a nation, Brits are a pretty unadventurous bunch when it comes to seafood. Over 75 percent of all the seafood we eat comes from the big five: salmon, cod, haddock, tuna and prawns. We don’t catch enough of these in the UK so we end up importing the majority of it. As a result, these stocks have been massively overfished on a global scale. A number of other species, which are of good quality, yet currently lack a stable and viable market which have been pushed to one side. These ‘under-utilised’ species currently represent about 17 percent of the total English catch. If we want to help solve the problem we need to diversify the different types of fish we eat.
The idea behind Creel Fish Club is to try and take the strain off overfished stocks, introduce customers to new types of fish and seafood and help support the inshore fishing fleet. By subscribing to Creel Fish Club you can be assured your fish will be spanking fresh, seasonal, sustainable, local and delicious. And what’s more … it’s really good for you!
Living North have teamed up with Creel Fish Club, to offer one lucky reader a box packed with fresh fish.
Prize to be collect from Northumberland Seafood Centre, Amble
