OP It's all very well you saying you won't say why you have not paid debts for privacy reasons. But basically no one knows who you are. Others might have done the same as you in the past and be able to give you help.
Paid off the last of my unsecured debts in 2016. Then saved up and bought a property. Current aim is to pay off my mortgage as early as possible. Currently over paying every month. Mortgage due to be paid off in 2036 hoping to get it paid off much earlier. Set up my own bespoke spreadsheet to manage my money.

OP you need to contact a debt charity ASAP. You are in a dire situation and they will be able to advise you and help you get it sorted. Although you say you are not making any debt payments to give yourself options this is madness. Please pick up the phone and call a debt charity as if you do want to retrain there is no way you will have paid what you owe back if you go it alone in 3 years time. There is help out there - PLEASE GRAB IT WITH BOTH HANDS!

  • I beleive the Barclays and both Natwest debts are coming up to statute barred as it will be 6 years in 2019, is there a way that I can find this out and what it would mean for me?

Is it worth me sending an 'Provit' letter to all my debtors bar the council and HRMC?
Yes, you could send 'prove it' letters, asking for a CCA at the same time. Do you have a plan to repay the non-priority debts? I would suggest that you want to prioritise the council and HMRC first. :)
@Willing2Learn- hi, yes you are correct that nothing is yet being paid towards my debts. I have asked all my creditors to freeze the debts but I completely understand that the council tax and HRMC debt is a major priority. I am yet to approach a debt solution charity or company as I would like as much input as possible to make amends first.
Why are you delaying speaking to a free debt counselling service? What positives can come out of delaying putting a workable plan together? I don't think you can sort this out on your own.

The more you delay, the worse the problem will get. I say "To hell with all the procrastination. Contact StepChange ASAP".

    Hi,

Your problem is one of disposable income, to be fair, you do not really have £116.00 left at month end to pay your debts with, most of that could easily be added to your budget, i very much doubt you can survive on a monthly grocery bill of only £120.

I do not subscribe to the "cut costs to the bone" culture, as it is not sustainable long term, you need to live, and you cannot eat properly on such a small budget, i am a divorced single man, and my monthly food budget is almost 3 times yours.

If you can get your budget to leave a balance of less than £50 before debt repayments, you may very well qualify for a debt relief order, you have no car, no other assets, and are not a homeowner, you are a typical candidate for a DRO.

I would recommend you talk to an intermediary, such as stepchange, about obtaining one.

Please listen to the advice you get here. People sometimes may be blunt/honest but it's because they've been there ( often in denial beforehand) and know how to help.
Contact a debt charity and get the ball rolling quickly! Good luck.
