Cars on it way out

I probs my don’t need 10 but probably around the 7-8 mark. I need a decent sized car as I have a young family and aging parents who need ferried about. The trade in I’ve been offered for my car is less than £3k. I’ve looked around and can only get littler cars for around the £7k mark but I do see your point0

Thank you very much. I did do it for the best of reasons (which I so t go into in full on here!).0

Could the other person now pay you back the money they owe, that would get you a quality reliable car0
-
Sadly not, they are working all the hours they can on a minimum wage job to pay off a big debt that landed them in the position they were in.0

I'd agree with the others - go for a slightly cheaper car.
Try the eligibility checkers, also as suggested above. Some are brokers angling for referral commissipn (MSE Credit Club, Noddle, Clearscore, their partners), and there are some pre-application screens from the firms themselves.
You might find that if loans come up with higher rates, you might be able to apply for a credit card with 0% balance transfer or spending offers for up to a couple of years.
Even your current credit card could be useful for part of it temporarily. 2 or 4 or 6 months at maybe 16% on a couple of thousand is still cheaper than 5 to 10% apr on £7-8000 for a year or two, and plus the higher depreciation.
If you get any results that are subject to further information or consideration, or appeal on a marginal decline, maybe you can explain circumstances like you have above, verbally on the phone. I hope firms would be sensitive, and realistic this is much less likely a second time, but actually I know little about that sort of thing.0 -
Where do I start? I need less than 10k but no idea if anyone will look at me due to the ccj (early 2016)
Start by fixing the car you've got. It is always cheaper to repair than replace. Spending £10k you don't have to avoid paying for repairs is madness. The first year's depreciation alone is going to most likely work out costing you far more than the repairs do. What is wrong with it?This is a system account and does not represent a real person. Ah but that’s the problem - intermittent ecu fault. Been in and out the garage for months and no fault codes. Suddenly the car just stops. Dead. With no way of restarting til it gets taken to the garage. So sadly I can’t jyst get it fixed.0

You can, it is just that it is going to involve spending money to do so and it may need more than one part replacing before its fully cured. If you've been using the same garage it might be time to consider using another and even taking it to the main dealers and spending an hours labour charge for diagnosis. There are companies that do ECU repairs and replacement refurbished ECUs for sub £300. You're literally going to spend several grand to fix a problem that is going to cost no more than £500 or so to fix. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. If you're committed to spending 7-8k, pick the brains of the motoring board to see what they recommend.0 -
I had a very bad credit history but the car garage were able to find a finance deal for me. Yes the interest was high but that would have been the case wherever I went. They probably know of providers that we have never heard of.
I used Advantage Finance. I was impressed with good customer service so would recommend them.
I agree you can get a decent car for less than 10k.0
