Holiday comping - any teachers?

Hi everyone
I've recently started entering holiday comps online as myself and my partner are currently saving for a house, so I thought I would try my luck with winning something for free. I know I'm getting way ahead of myself as I probably won't win anything knowing my luck, but I was looking for a bit of advice. My partner is a teacher, so obviously only gets the school holidays off - any other teachers find this a pain with entering comps?? Nearly half of the competitions say you can't travel during peak season, this seems really unfair!
I am wondering if any teachers/partners of teachers out there have ever won anything and had it amended to fit their holiday schedule? I wouldn't even mind paying a few hundred extra if I won a decent trip to travel during peak times. It's putting me off entering a lot of great competitions (although I will admit some of the ones I REALLY fancy I've been trying my luck with anyway)
Any help is appreciated :j

Unfortunately the reason many holiday comps state they are only to be taken outside of school holidays is because these are times the comp provider doesn't have bookings. From their point of view, allowing a prize to be taken at a time when they could have a customer who is paying the high season rate is unlikely, especially for smaller companies. As for whether a company would allow you to upgrade there is no definite answer. Some might but you won't know until you've won the competition and if they won't or can't, you'll be very disappointed. Always read the T&Cs carefully though as some do state that you can make certain upgrades at an additional cost to you- to a higher level of accommodation for example. Those ones might be more accommodating to you.0

I'm not a teacher, but do currently work as support staff in a school - I always check the terms and conditions when entering holiday comps. and avoid those that have black out dates that coincide with school holiday dates - I would be so dissappointed to win something and then not be able to go.Fibro-Warrior0

I used to work in a school too, so always read T&Cs. However, many will be flexible especially if you're willing to pay extra. You won't know until you try,
Don't get me started on the "Family" comp that can only be taken during term time
