Hobs don't work on my mini oven

I have a Morphy Richards mini oven with two hobs. I replaced my full size oven with this a couple of years ago as I live alone and thought it would be more sufficient for me.
However, although the oven works well the hobs no longer heat up properly and take ages, therefore I just don't use them.
I am wondering if it would be better to just bite the bullet and buy a full size oven. I could get another mini one but it may be a fault with hobs on these type of ovens. Any views?

Id buy an induction plate. They come in singles or doubles0

Thanks for your replies. The single hobs have poor reviews online, saying they don't heat up properly.0

Induction ones do0

What are induction hobs?
Best not to ask that question ... they're funny ones where you are limited as to which pans will work on them... so it all gets confusing as then you have to think about what sort your pans are and might have to buy new ones (which would be annoying and expensive).
Personally, if you like what you've had, then stick with a mini oven - and choose either a new one entirely ... or a separate little plug in ring.
No point going for a big oven again, you know that doesn't suit your needs.0 -
Induction hobs are not complicated, all you need are pans that are magnetic on the base, test yours with a fridge magnet
They look like ceramic hobs but don't get hot to touch and are as versatile as gas
even if your pans are not magnetic you can buy a mesh type thing that you put down on the hob and put your pan on that. How well they work I don't know as I just bought cheap pans from Ikea to replace the ones that I had that weren't magnetic0 -
I have done the same thing, live alone, I have a microwave combi which is oven, grill and microwave, I have bought the teal everyday induction portable hob and love it. I got a suitable frying pan from Sainsbury’s for £7 which has deep enough sides to use as a shallow pan, then a pan from ikea and one from a boot sale, love it... Instant on off...
If I do say spag Bol, I cook the mince and then put it in. Tupperware container while the pasta is cooking.
No bother
