Relocation and Employment

I am currently in the process of relocating to Wales from the South West and am unemployed. I left my job as a admin assistant at a school during the summer, I had been unhappy for some time and with relocation on the cards decided to hand in my notice.
The move it taking a lot longer than expected, I had saved some money to see me through a couple of months but am worried this is going to run low.
Anyway long and short of it, if I applied for temp jobs in my current town, would I need to give much notice? I did apply for some permanent jobs before and was interviewed, but then felt guilty as I knew I would only be at the job for several months.
Any advice on what to do would be appreciated.
Thanks

It depends entirely on what (if anything) is agreed.
If there is no notice period specified in your contract (which doesn't have to be in writing) then the legal default applies which is one week's notice once you have been employed for a month or more.
Less than a month and neither side needs to give any notice at all.
Two years or more employment then they have to give you one week for each complete year up to a maximum of 12. You still only have to give a week regardless of how long you have been there.0 -
This seems to be the kind of situation where a zero hours contract would be ideal.0

But remember you have to give whatever notice is stipulated in your contract - which could well be more than a week - if there is one.0
