Buy another Immersun?

Anybody know if there is anywhere to buy another immersun? I want to control a third load to use up any more excess generation I have.

I haven't seen any advertised (new or second hand) since the demise of the manufacturer!

Failing that does anybody have any experience of using a different manufacturers diverter alongside an Immersun?

Which immerSUN do you have? The mkII can control three devices. The mkI was just two.

I looked at the immerSUN website the other day and it (or the twitter link) at least intimates that they are available. Might be worth contacting the firm that took over immerSUN - email addy on the .co.uk site.

Why not buy a battery? Although RoI is no better (at present) it is more versatile.
  • I like the idea of batteries but ROI at present is not 'no better' it is a lot worse and a current non starter.

Diverter ROI is between something like 4 and 8 years.

Considering batteries need replacing typically before they have earned their keep ROI is in never never land!
  • Mine too is a MkII. ...........but third output is relay control is it not? Far less useful and possible defeats the object of utilising excess energy?

Looking at a few website linked online suppliers = no stock.I have emailed the company. Will post any response for general information.

on the mk II you can set the third output to work the same as the other two, not just a relay. What it actually does is switch heater two output to one of two devices.

So, heater 1 powers heater 1, heater 2 heats either heater 2 or heater 3 depending on how the relay switches. See pages 14, 15 and 30 of the manual.

In essence, N and E of heater two output are shared with devices 2 and 3 and the live goes to the relay and is switched to either heater 2 or heater 3.

Have a look. It is quite easy once you work out that the immerSUN is really just a clever switch.

    hi
If you have sma inverter it also has a controllable relay built in which will divert excess.

    Hi gefnew,

Ooo, interesting. My inverters are SMA and I was not aware of that. How does it work and can you point me at the relevant guidance please? Not sure I will do anything with the knowledge but just interested...
