Blimey trying to pay everything by cash since OH is going bankrupt and went to pay a small amount to close one of my catalogues and i usually pay online but this time cos we have stopped using our overdrawn account i went to Post Ofiice and they charged me £2.20 as their standard fee:mad: , she did say that is the standard fee, anyone else come across this?

You could pay it at your bank for free (overdrawn or not).

 Didn't think of that, feel a real silly billy now.
But starting as i mean to go on and am making a break from the past and our old account which is just sitting there overdrawn now. Mind you reckon i could've gone in there to save £2.20 though:D

I posted a similar message a while back PP. Same thing happened and i was furious.
£2.20 is extreme. It seems to be a habit that they penalise you for using something called 'cash'.
I also am getting penalised for paying my phone bill with cash, rather than DD. grrrrrrrrrrThe first time we said hello, was the first time we said goodbye. As the angels took your tiny hand and flew you to the sky-you forever left us breathless. RIP my beautiful granddaughter

Slightly off subject but i friend of mine went to i think it was carphone warhouse to buy a phone and they refused cash - said she could only pay with a credit card!!!!!!
Is cash not legal currency anymore????? lol0 -
The Post Office have been doing this for a while now. That's why I go to paypoint outlets, they don't seem to charge. When I remember, I pay my electricity and water with a paypoint card.BR 4/10/07
