We thought it was such a lovely day we would go shopping. First of all we went to Ikea and bought some items and then on to another store and bought some curtains.

Arrived home and thought we would put the new curtains up. To our surprise the pair of curtains do not match each other. We then opened up the box containing the ikea lamp and to our horror the box stated the light shade is white. However in the box is a cream one. How unlucky can you be. We bought two of these lamps and they should have been white shades for both.

Now we have to make a 80 mile round trip to return these items.

I shall certaining asking for a goodwill gesture for the obvious inconvenience.

    UPDATE

The first shop for the curtains said we could send them back by post and would refund the postage. Ikea gave us a £20.00 goodwill payment for the inconvenience.
  • Good thing the shop where you bought them were considerate enough and have owned their mistake. Maybe next time you check them before proceeding to the counter and paying these stuff.

Good point. However difficult to check when the curtains are all packaged up and to the naked eye looked fine. Also the same with the lamp. All packaged up and clearly stated on the front what was inside and colour etc. Hindsight is such a wonderful thing!
