So my husband had his finger bitten off by a dog last saturday. Hes been told not use his hand for 8-12 weeks and hes an electrician. I'm worried that he will go back to work too soon as we are expecting a second baby. Our savimgs arent great as ive only been back at work 6m from our first baby
Im considering ringing natwest and asking about a mortgage payment holiday. We own 52% of the house and have overpaid in the past. Does anyone have any experience of doing this??
What are the consequences? What can i do to make it more likely?

Call them and speak to them.
Specifically, I would ask if it will show as arrears on your credit report or not. I have seen some where it shows as up to date and others where it shows as arrears - the ones where arrears are showing those people were not told it would show as arrears.I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it. Is your husband claiming from the dog's owner for the injury, although I understand this is entirely dependent on the circumstances? A claim won't help you in the short term but in the long-term, if successful, it may in terms of using your savings to pay bills etc and replenish your savings with any potential compensation.
Is your husband employed or self-employed.Thrifty Till 50 Then Spend Till the End

Scenario in today's 'The Times' where a family needed to take time off to care for a sick child and NatWest weren't at all sympathetic until the newspaper became involved.
