Boots contact lenses scheme warning

I have been a member of Boots contact lense scheme for several years. I have a limited range of choices due to the scale of my myopia and astigmatism. I have used Toric Aquacomfort Plus Dailies with no problems.
A couple of months ago at my regular eye exam the optician told me I had to change to a different lense brand as my previous ones were “being discontinued “ ( her exact words). I was disappointed but said I would give her suggested brand a go. I received the trial batch, they were awful, could not wear them more than a couple of hours as the vision deteriorated so much. Contacted the optician who suggested I have the same brand with a tweaked prescription (I am on the cusp of strengths so this can happen). The same problem, they were awful.
Anyway, being rather concerned I e mailed the manufacturer of my original lenses who reassured me that they were NOT in fact discontinuing these lenses at all! Armed with this knowledge I went back to Boots for another appointment. I said I would like to carry on using the lenses I am happy with. The same phrase was used “Sorry they are being discontinued “. I obviously challenged this and produced my e mail reply. She then backtracked that in fact it was Boots that was discontinuing them - which is not the same thing at all! Anyway I have now withdrawn from the scheme, but wanted to warn others that the ones Boots recommend to you may fit their marketing aims rather than your needs!
I complained in the shop that lying to dust was not acceptable- would be interested to find out if they change their practice or not, but there is no way to do that.
