Remortgage woes

Hi, does anyone have some advice regarding remortgaging or possibly moving a getting a new mortgage. I earn £34k. I have credit cards totalling 6.5k all on interest free deals to purchase a car. I would like to borrow more money on my mortgage but the lenders seem very reluctant to offer the amount I’m after because I have the credit card debt. They said if I had no credit cards they would lend £153k based on my earnings. But because of the debt they would only offer around £125k. I have £100k in equity on our home and £95k left on mortgage. 25 years left on mortgage. I don’t have any other debt and have never defaulted etc. Any advice would be great, thanks.

If you have approached the wrong lender you will get the wrong answer. That is most likely the case here as Lenders have different attitudes to current debt to be consolidated.
