2 year fix ending in April

Options
Hi all,
My 2 year fix with Halifax ends in April and is currently 2.29%
Their best deal seems to be 2.79% at the moment which I worry might go up by April. There is suggestion of changing mortgage in the last 6 months before a deal ends. Is this something I should be looking into next month or would there be lots of charges if I changed lender before April?
I used L&C last time.

Any suggestions much appreciated.

You can get a remortgage generally about 3 months before your fix finishes, but you cannot switch mortgage before your fix finishes without incurring penalties

But chat with L+C if you are happy with them to evaluate your options, customer retentions are also an option where no credit check is done, they are found on your online portal

You should check on your existing lenders website to see deals they have for existing customers .
    That is your starting point.
You need to look at your LTV to try and work out what deals might be available to you.
Lots of factors to take into account.

No, you cannot sensibly do anything until February.

Thanks all, dimbo61 - I checked and the best rate for s 2 year fix with Halifax with my LTV (less than 60%) is currently 0.5% more than my current fix.
