Late payment help

Hi I’m new to this forum so I don’t quite know how to post my own question but Anyway I have been in a lot of debt from when I was younger and I am trying to fix the situation for the passed couple years.although I am on a low income although I work full time but it seems all I do is spend on bills and debts which drives me mad!
I am trying to fix up my credit report I have credit cards etc but I do have 2 ccjs on my file one from 2016 and one from 2017 which I pay off monthly under an agreed payment plan although this doesn’t show on my credit file .
I had purchased an item on hire purchase from perfect homes 2 years ago I paid around £650-700 for 1 item which If I had paid for it with cash out right it would of only cost around £300 if that but I just didn’t have the funds available at that time. Anyway I had cancelled the insurance on it and then the item broke around 3 months later I was still expected to pay £44 a month which I refused, I said just come and collect it And any remIning debt left I will pay weekly at £2 a week considering I no longer get to use the item as it had broke which to be honest they should have been happy with that beens I already paid them nearly £700 for it so they well and truly made thier profit .
The woman on the phone had said no way there is still 600 left to pay!! I was like well I made my offer and that was that . I had no letters or anything after around 2 months of the phone call so I thought maybe they have thought they had got enough money out of me but I have just looked on my credit report and they have been giving me late payments on my file every month which I am fuming about because all other credit reports online wasn’t showing this . So I am wondering if anyone knows what I should do about this or are they just gonna continue to give me a late payment every month until I pay the full £600 off.

Hi,
I’ve moved your post to the general DFW forum where you will get more replies.
Unfortunately they are well within their rights to Mark your credit file in this way, as you have defaulted on the repayments.
You cannot renege on an agreement without consequences I’m afraid, I know it’s not what you want to hear, but you can’t just stop paying and expect them to accept the situation.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards. You have a credit agreement, you need to pay the contractual payments. Just because what you bought has broken, it doesn't mean you don't have to pay for them.
When you miss a payment, your credit file will be affected.
You need to pay the debts off or deal with this with a debt solution.
Im not sure if there is anything outside the norm with these types of agreements - i.e. if returning goods may be possible etc. However what is key is that you need to take responsibility for this , one way or another.0 -
What a, and I'll be banned or warned for this, but a !!!!!! comment from the person above. How someone like you can have over 1,000 likes when you sit at a keyboard typing a completely unhelpful comment I don't know.
Anyway, I'm off to another thread to try and help and NOT judge...Savings as of April 2023 Savings account - £26460.50(14474.88)Current account - £2140.24(4576.79)Total - £28600.74(19051.67) £1010 (£65pm CS/BS) £250 CS/BS/JS0
