Game are a total bunch of crooks. They do not acknowledge the law. Ignore the distance selling regulations. Wont replace faulty products. Over charge from their advertised price. Very slow service. Shopped at Game 3 times in about 10 years (in total desperation and a hope they might stop scamming the public) and each time I was robbed - Well they only attempted to rob me today (charge me twice their advertised price) but I went to Tesco instead. Never again if its the last place on Earth

If I ruled the world.......

I cant shop there anymore either.
They dont price match with their own website. I can pre order online and collect in store for x price but if your rock up to store its usually a few quid more. Its like theyve all but given up on their stores which seemed to be focused around selling Nintendo mini figures and t-shirts.
And the online aspect usually cant compete with other online retailers for price or convenience.
Its one of the only high street retailers (that isnt focussed on exchanges etc) for gaming and only has a 30% market share thats falling. The gaming industry is massively increasing year on year yet game is falling further behind every year and the directors apparently cant see why.
Its not a hard model, it not hard to get money off gamers. But theyre going elsewher int heir droves. I remember going in on a weekend and you couldnt move in the store, there woud be lways 10+ people at the checkout, now i go in and theres more staff than customers, offering me disk protection.0 -
I priced a number of games and found they were ( only very slightly) cheaper in one case.
I've found that for used games Music Magpie are cheapest (along with some Ebay sellers) and the former's discs are always in good condition, with it's direct prices being better than their ones via Amazon.0 -
Never had a problem myself and will continue to use them.0

I've never had a problem.. if a game doesn't work they always swap it for another copy sometimes they have good deals on games and sometimes they don't if it's the latter I just shop elsewhere0

Never had a problem with them either.
Judging by the OPs posting history, I suspect he failed the attitude test0 -
Surprised Game is still in buisness with the likes of online sellers selling both the boxed games and Serial cd keys only"It is prudent when shopping for something important, not to limit yourself to Pound land/Estate Agents"

I wonder if Game would eventually follow Currys / PC World and start changing their format to encourage gamers to play in store, with high spec machines, fast networks and internet. The challenge would be that most Game stores are quite small and such an install would take up a lot of space.
When games are now increasingly being sold direct as downloads, retailers must see the shift coming and adapt. The money from selling games will decrease, but the opportunity to sell hardware and play games socially is a way of offsetting this.
But then you know that the people will just go on on Amazon or Ebay to find the parts cheaper. We all do it. We all complain about the death of the high street as well.0 -
Used Game a number of times of the years, they aren't exactly the cheapest. Only 3 issues I've had was an Xbox 360 got the red light, a controller didn't work and I didn't get the code for Fallout 4 season pass yet I'd pre-ordered it and went to the midnight launch to pick it up and was told the season pass would be emailed to me which I'd found strange but it got sorted out in the end.0

Why on earth did you go back a second and third time then, there are plenty of other options? If I get shafted by a retailer once they will never get a second chance to do the same again let alone a third.0 -

As the Distance selling regulations haven't been in force for well over 4 years, I'm glad that they have decided to ignore them.0
