TSB remortgage

I wondered if anyone has any experience of remortgaging with the TSB following the IT fiasco earlier in the year?

We have no choice but to continue with them due to me becoming self-employed earlier in the year.

I am alarmed to see that our mortgage info is no longer accessible online, that they are not doing online applications for those who simply want to keep their mortgage going at the end of the fixed period, and that there may be some process to go through that I might fail.

Looking for a small p/t job just to have a wage as OH's salary is nearly big enough to remortgage under his name. Not quite there yet though.

Any thoughts greatly appreciated.

New product with existing lender is not a remortgage. Dealing with an advisor will result in your financial circumstances having to be declared. Which may limit the options available to you in terms of product choice.

Remortgaging to TSB is a damn sight easier than trying to do a TSB customer retention product as an existing borrower, which I understand is still nigh-on impossible.

This is helpful and exactly what my concerns are about. Is it seriously that difficult?

Your current mortgage isn't to be taken away from you due to a change of personal circumstances.

AFAIK they are still having IT issues with product transfers.

  • When does your mortgage product finish? If you stay with TSB your change of circumstances should not affect your remortgage. The products you should be offered will depend on your LTV. Going elsewhere may be an issue given you are recently SE and presumably income cannot be confirmed. You need three years accounts or at least that was the requirement when I left banking.

There may still be ongoing IT problems which is why you cannot see your mortgage online. Can you try phoning them?
