Tesco Cineworld Gift card debacle

What a right debacle this has been! I bought the voucher as I was going through the till I explained to the checkout assistant I was specifically buying it because it had 20% off. When I got home I realised that no discount had been applied. Went into store today they said there was nothing they could do because I had chosen the £40 gift card rather than get 2 of the £20 ones! I think this is misleading. Spoke to customer services who could not do their maths they thought they owed me 80 pence. Anyway got passed to the Deputy Manager nothing he could do, so asked for the manager. She got my back up immediately by saying she could tell this was a ‘sensitive’ matter for me, with a tone. After being there for ages being passed from pilllar to post I ever so slightly raised my voice. I think she was over sensitive and started saying she was a human and I can’t speak to her in that way. I wouldn’t have minded but I wasn’t being aggressive or swearing - I would never do that and I had my daughter with me too. Eventually she offered an £8 Tesco voucher so I took it but I have to admit it’s left a bitter taste in my mouth. I almost felt like they didn’t have a care that the poster was misleading and I had made a genuine error.
