Working in international student recruitment?

Hi,
It's time for a career change and I'm thinking of moving into an international student recruitment role at one of the unis. There seems to be plenty of these jobs listed on job sites and I believe that I meet all of the requirements specified in the job descriptions and person specifications. I'm also not tied to any one location and am willing to relocate if needs be.
This kind of role also seems great for me as I would hopefully be able to use my second-language skills as well as have the opportunity to travel. However, I don't know anyone who is currently in this line of work.
Is anyone on here in the industry? Anything I should know or watch out for? Your insight would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Mark

What's your work experience and at what level are you looking to start? It's not easy not that easy to get an interview for such role unless you are happy to start as assistant or officer.0

A marketing type background would probably be useful as a lot of it is going to overseas education fairs and talking to prospective students. Having been through Higher education yourself would also be useful as would any other university admin experience.0

Don't be misled by the word 'recruitment'. This is a sales role - do you have any previous sales experience?0
