MSE shopbot search

Where's the online mega shopbot search (eg for books) that used to be on the site gone? I had it bookmarked but that page now forwards to here:

Although it is still shown (twice) on the shopping page index (under Tools and Shopping Tricks) it has gone!

I have complained and just got this reply.

"Thank you for getting in touch. Unfortunately we no longer have the tool on the website as we discontinued it. I hope that was helpful."

No I'm sorry MSE, that is not helpful! I found the tool essential for all types of online purchases. A subsequent email from MSE suggested I use Google Shopping (formerly Google Product Search) instead but from past experience it doesn't always find the best offers and tends to list sponsored products first.

This is not the first tool to be removed without warning - a very good phone call price checking tool was removed a year or two ago.

I'm very disappointed in MSE.
