ready made scrambled eggs

I do scrambled eggs in the microwave and takes just a little more time than the ready made stuff.
Two or three eggs cracked into a Pyrex jug, with a splash of milk. Cook for 40, 30 and 20 seconds - stirring at times microwave stops. Then, depending on the size of eggs used and how you like them, another optional 10 seconds.
Cost 40p if I use three eggs as I buy 15 for £2.This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
I do the same but with a bit of butter and salt and pepper.0

Maybe someone who lives alone doesn't want to have to buy extra eggs, butter, milk salt and pepper? Or perhaps it might be handy to make at work if you eat it from the container?
I cant imagine it appealing to most though, and it cant be any quicker.
You can buy pancake mix that you "just" add eggs and milk to (so just flour that costs a fortune) and these have been on sale since the seventies, so i suppose there has always been a market for this type of thing.0 -
I thought eggs butter milk salt and pepper were store cupboard staples.0

Have you seen the Waitrose line up for student cupboard staples? I don't think they were on the list. https://metro.co.uk/2018/09/11/waitroses-list-of-essential-student-food-items-includes-bouillon-powder-italian-seasoning-and-harissa-paste-7933725/
I do think they had a cider vinegar and tamarind paste :money: Perhaps eggs are too low brow these days...unless the are quails or ostrich eggs? :eek:0 -

I forgot to look for these scrambled eggs the other day as I want to try them, curiosity mainly. Anyone know if I should look in the fridge or freezer section or next to the boxes eggs?0

I would rather my son came home and ate this from Iceland Foods after a night out than bought take-a-way food.0

That made me laugh. We have quite a large range of store cupboard ingredients but not some of these :rotfl:0
