Can't help with the chicken as none in the fridge. I have organic parmasan that I got reduced. The original price is £19.12 per KG.

Sorry just re-read your post. I would say your parmasan price would be correct for non-organic.

Have a look on a supermarket website. Here's a link to Sainsburys

Whilst the parmesan price looks high per kilo, in reality you only tend to use a small amount of parmesan, so £1.65 per 100g isn't too bad....obviously it depends upon the recipe.
Sorry, but I've no chicken in either, have you tried looking at Tesco online for prices....I think you may have to register...not really sure.

  • Why not take a look at an on-line grocery store? You may need to register (but that's easy, and you can delete your registration later).

    This is one.

parmesan from aldi retails at £1.99 for 200g. that would make it just under £10 for a kilogram. if it sounds a lot its because a kilogram of parmesan *is* a lot, with it being so strong its rarely sold in large packs.

Chicken breasts, again, from aldi, frozen ones, £2.99 last time i bought them and i think that was 500g. fresh is going to be more expensive but i'm afraid i don't know how much fresh is. you could use this site (which has details for more than just one supermarket): i checked for you at tescos and it says £6.80 per kg, a pack of 5 breasts retails for £5.00 (that's 735g). you could check for asda, sainsburys and occado but i don't suppose they'd be *that* different.
