Had a request from Coop for me to provide them with a SOA, they also want 3 months wage slips, proof of mortgage payments and proof of outstanding balances with other creditors.
How much detail do I HAVE to go into with them? Are they just asking for the same info a court would ask for if issuing a CCJ?
I'm self employed so the wage slips are pretty worthless as I get expenses and company dividends which are not shown on wage slips anyway.
Very tempted to get them to take me to court as they are the only ones who constantly harras me even when I am making the payments I can afford. I wrote to them to advise them I had "unexpected but essential car maintenance" and would be paying a lower amount for one month, they simply cancelled the "agreement" they put me on (lower interest) and now the interest is more than my payment again!!!! cant win

I'm no expert but I would assume they would want your mortgage/rent, council tax, utilities, credit card and/or loan repayments, insurances etc, basically all your monthly direct debits.
If you give them that - if they want any more they can ask.Bank Balance: In the black for the moment.

All the other creditors have been happy with a SOA, its just this lot want copies of the things I listed, EGG went through a credit check with me, asked what everything was and came to an arrangement with me which was great. I think I need to prepare for CCJ with this lot, at least then they cant keep adding interest that exceeds my repayment.......Please tell me a CCJ doest accrue interest!!!!:eek:0

I'm not trying to hijack your thread, but I'm with smile :-( , the internet branch of coop banking. I'm actually thinking of stopping the payments to smile, because although they have accepted my dmp, they are adding more in interest than I am actually paying. They are the only ones doing this, but my understanding is that with a ccj, the interest would be frozen. Maybe somebody with more information could confirm for us both.Official DFW Nerd Club - Member # 593 - Proud To Be Dealing With My Debts!0

hi, once the debt had gone to court the interest charges would stop but there would be court costs added. Then if it went to a bailiff for collection they would add their costs(that would only happen if you didn't respond to the courts payment order). However, the court might be more open to considering a payment offer if the one they set is too high for you. More often than not a debt gets farmed out to a collection agency instead of going to court who will add their own costs on and then they will start the hassling instead of the original creditor I would be tempted to say to tell the Co-op to do their worst if they are not accepting a reasonable offer from you. I would provide them with all the info they ask for and then if it does go to court they can't say that you haven't co-operated with them.
Hope this helps, good luckdoing what I do best...trying!!-- lainey :j

If you read on the national debthelpline website companies are not actually allowed to ask all that a court would ask less! Lloyds asked me and I just sent them a copy of my budget sheet which I downloaded off the national debthelpline website.0

Hmm just read the last bit of your original post there is also a template letter on national debthelpline website for if you want to go to court, why don't you download there information pack and have a read of the template letter see if its worth doing - a court will definately stop the interest for you!0

 Hiya sweetie,
Just a real quickie cos it's freezing here and I'm dying for a wee.
(TMI - aaagh!

BUT I am almost certain that you don't have to give them anything like that level of info and that in fact you shouldn't.
I think they're being cheeky beggars and chancing their arm.
Give Payplan or CCCS a ring / email to get some qualified advice before you hand over all that info.

Thanks for the replies.
I only sent them the bare minimum information to keep them happy for a week or so. Just looked at my online statement and its all back with full interest so may as well not bothered.
They keep harping on about going with a debt consolidation on the property, they were more concerned with how much equity we have in the property than discussing a payment plan......and I am NOT going down that road!
