    Oh, I don't know. God has given us Google.:)

  • I have been a copy editor for many years and neither myself nor my colleagues have heard of this company. It may be legit, but it is not one of the big players.

    As a US-based company, you would need to be familiar with the AP Stylebook unless there is work available in UK English. You would also have to be happy to be paid in dollars, the value of which can obviously fluctuate.

    Have you already applied? If so, let us know how you get on.

    Well, I'm not impressed by the tiny punctuation error on their home page. Small, unimportant ... but more important bearing in mind the industry they're hoping to engage with.

    And other errors when you look closer....

    Website linked above (https://jobsforeditors.com/) gives a London address "We are a UK-registered company with support facilities located in Eastern Europe. " but pays in $ via either a "Prepaid Debit MasterCard, powered by Payoneer" :think: or to "a Skrill or a PayPal account".
    "And suddenly I find myself listening to a man I've never known before,
    Telling me about the sea..."

    The address appears to be the registered address, as it is occupied by an accountancy firm and there are over 470 companies registered there; however, Jobs for Editor is not listed.

    It could have a different trading name, of course, but if it is registered, shouldn't its registration number be displayed on its website? Alarm bells are ringing for me.

    Try;

    ONE FREELANCE LIMITED Company number 06547172
    https://beta.companieshouse.gov.uk/company/06547172/filing-history

    that's the company behind jobsforeditors.com
    https://jobsforeditors.com/privacy-policy.html

    Their primary business is 'writing assistance' . They are profitable. They had £12m+in the bank in Dec 2017.

    Make of that what you will.

    OP, did you sign up with this company? If so, how is it going? I am always on the lookout for filler work to complete between work for my own clients.
