    The only real issue you have is the disparity in survivor's income between yourself and your wife. As kidmugsy suggests, deferring wifes SP for a few years would be one way of addressing this. Another might be exchanging some of your age 67 DB for a higher widow's pension - if that is something the scheme offers.

    Having said that, even as it stands she would be looking at nearly £22k pa post tax compared to your stated desire for £24k as a couple. Still a lot less than the £30k pa you'd have if she died first.

    I would up the wife's pension as with SS she saves a lot of tax. use cash or Isas to boost income to be able to afford this if need be.

    Yes, I believe the widows pension would be 50% of the DB’s.

    Agreed, we need to consider care and domestic support needs.

    The DBS are values as at 2018 pension statements not NRDs
