Why feel mean and guilty? Gosh that sounds like a me thing to say as I always feel bad about things

But, the way I'd look at it is this:
You're saving money, giving to charity, and recycling. That's not bad for Chrimbo pressies!
AND think of all that excess packaging you are preventing from going to the landfill.0 -
Many of my 2 YO's presents come from charity shops, car boot sales & ebay! His main present this year is a Vtech fly & learn globe, £24.99 in the shops, £7.19 delivered from ebay, pre-loved but in perfect condition! I got really excited in a chairty shop the other day, my son is really really into Bob the Builder and I had been planning on buying him a couple of the figures at £2.99 each, found 3 of them lurking in the bottom of a bucket in a chairty shop & got them all for the princley sum of 25p, a visit to the dishwasher & they are fit for his stocking & I saved £8.72;)
Go for it, you are teaching a valuable lesson IMHO;)Post Natal Depression is the worst part of giving birth:p
In England we have Mothering Sunday & Father Christmas, Mothers day & Santa Clause are American merchandising tricks:mad: Demonstrate pride in your heirtage by getting it right please people!0 -
My 2 cents - at that age they won't be able to tell where its from so its fine!
Remember also that at Argos, by the tills, they usually have quite reduced toys , if thats any help!0 -
my sons are 12 (twins) and like most kids their age, they are after a ds lite for xmas, which will prob be new, but as for clothes they love lookin in the charity shops,as wen they see somet with addidas, or nike, they know they stand a good chance of gettin it, so this year i'm on the lookout for clothes for boys in charity shops, plus vinyl LP's for bfenjoy life, we only get one chance at it:)0
