Hi Willing2Learn
I think initially I would rather go with step change to take some of the pressure off me and just let things chug along for a while. I built enough into my I&E to allow me to start building anF @ F fund for down the line (waaaay down the line) so was thinking to let things potter on with step change for a good while then go self managed to do F& F's.
Does that make sense? If thou of fortune be bereft, and of thine earthly store hath left,Two loaves, Sell one and with the dole, buy hyacinths to feed the soul. 'Anon'

Help- Has anyone emailed Moorcroft with there offer of repayment? If so what email address did you use??
I am currently feeling pretty strong about facing up to this situation but this is my stumbling block this morning.0 -
Hi,
I started the process of setting up my dmp at the beginning of the year, I sent out all the letters etc and StepChange got in touch with all my creditors.
Everything has been going fine aside from Santander credit cards being a bit difficult with all the usual letters etc, I did however receive a default from them at the beginning of July. I have just checked my balance on that account and they’ve been adding late payment fees, interest charges in April and May, in June and July they’ve charged me late payment, interest charges and over limit fees! I’ve only gone over my limit because they’ve continued to add interest and late payment fees, just in charges for this month and June they’ve added £120 on. Is there any way I can complain about this? I’m so annoyed that they’re making my situation worse rather then helping.
Aside from Santander the dmp has been a lifesaver, even Very are threatening to Default which I’m really hoping for as they’re the last account to default. It will mean 6 years from now I’ll have a clean credit score again.0 -

Clean credit file, not score.
The scores are just used as marketing tools to sell you credit improvement products.

Hi Lulabelle01
I only deal with moorcroft via email now. If you email them they may ask you to confirm a few things ie some personal details and that the email address you are using is authorised for them to contact and communicate with. I have also spoke with them over the phone and live chat. They are actually helpful so dont worry about contacting them! They accepted my offers and i do not hear from them at all now, i just make sure i pay on time etc.
Hope this helps!0 -
Afternoon all
I have a debt with UncleBuck payday loan, I have kept them updated and sent income and expenditure forms. Told them I will make payments monthly etc...got an email today, stating that ARC Europe Ltd will be collecting on their behalf. Does this mean that my account will not default (it hasn't yet) like it would if it was sold to a DCA? and has anyone had dealings with ARC?
Thanks all0 -
Hi
Am I OK to jump in with a query? I am new to MSE so I apologise if I get the etiquette wrong!
I am beginning to set up a DMP - sent all the information off to StepChange this morning - I just didn't know if I am supposed to contact my creditors and let them know that I am hopefully setting up a DMP, or do StepChange do that? Does anybody know?0 -

On their website, they refer to "their clients", so they are acting as a collection agent for the original creditor, they can pass your account over at any time, a default would be preferable for you, possibly, or they may just keep marking your account as up to date, as long as payments are maintained, they have a number of options.

Stepchange will be writing to them, but it does no harm you informing them yourself as well, a letter sent to each one, stating your intentions is all it takes.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards.
