Especially in the Seiko range you'll find a lot of grey imports online. That's not necessarily a bad thing, but it does complicate matters if you need parts (especially case parts) in future because Seiko UK (and other companies) tend not to stock parts for models they haven't imported.
They'll still get them if needed but you're at the mercy of their lead times which tend to be around 3 months for parts ordered from Japan.
I bought my watch from a local independent. They had a selection of offers in the window, including the watch I bought for an Argos-beating price. They adjusted the strap for me, which was fine. Though, the son doing it while his father gave him advice wasn't the most confidence inspiring thing in the world0
