  • It was the biggest timetable change for a lot more than six years, so train cancellations were less than might have been expected. Many were not due directly to the timetable change but because of the late availability of new rolling stock, track improvements etc.

    If people didn't want any new rolling stock or infrastructure improvements we could have just continued with the 1979 timetable, rolling stock, track, customer service and sandwiches.
    A kind word lasts a minute, a skelped erse is sair for a day.

    If people didn't want any new rolling stock or infrastructure improvements we could have just continued with the 1979 timetable, rolling stock, track, customer service and sandwiches.

    Or the people responsible for planning and implementing the changes could have done their jobs properly.
