Teachers' Pensions - Additional Pension Benefit vs Faster Accrural

Which do you think is better?

Additional Pension Benefit or Faster Accrural in the Teachers' Pension Scheme?

I'm a basic rate tax payer considering which to buy.

Depends what you want to achieve. Retire early; semi-retire; increase pension.
  • I didn't expect that answer oldbeanz!

Does it matter in terms of whether or not faster accrural or additional pension benefit is better?

I like the idea of increasing the pension pot value. I intend to retire early (but would primarily use sipp / isa / lisa to achieve this).
