Sorry for the lack of update for a while. It's been a crazy few months, and unfortunately things have gone from bad to worse. Things just haven't panned out well, and christmas just all went tits up despite best efforts. I'm completely devastated, and really annoyed at myself (and my husband, who was a huge factor in a lot of this unfortunately...) But rather than dwelling on what's happened, there are a few positives I'd like to focus on. And then I'll give you an update on the new balances below..
Positives:
- Sofa's paid off! (Well they will be as soon as Husband actually rings them, but the money is there!!)
- I'm back to work in Feb - I'm super sad that I'll be leaving my baby boy behind, but we're back to full time wage!
- Husband had a small payrise
- MBNA card has now gone below £8k.
Had trouble with Virgin AGAIN, they've charged us another 2 months interest!! Despite it being a 0% interest balance transfer and them refunding us the interest charge a couple of months ago. This not only is pushing our balance back up, but also the minimum payments are much higher. Husband rang them today and they are refusing to give us the money back and said our 0% interest was taken away from us due to a late payment in August. This was their fault due to the direct debit issue, AND they didn't ever tell us they were taking away the 0%. So I'm livid. We're moving the balance to my Barclaycard today as they've just sent us a 0% balance transfer offer. Although it does mean paying another fee. Feeling extremely !!!!ed off. But nothing we can do other than move it and then make a complaint. Not holding out hope though!
Anyway, from the bad to the really bad.. new balances, including a new appearance from a Tesco credit card - one that we use for our regular outgoings and pay off at the end of every month.. well haven't been able to pay it off due to lower than expected pay, Christmas and Husband's handy work.
Balances:
Sofas: £0
Credit card 1 - MBNA: £7925.39
Credit card 2 - Virgin: £4145.45 (£136 of this is the interest!!!!)
Credit card 3 - Tesco: £3688.63 (some of this does include food, petrol etc from this month to date so will be paid off at the end of the month)
It's bad. I know it is. Only way is up right?
NB: Husband no longer has access to the credit cards!!0
