Many will be aware of the Debenhams brand which has been on our high street for a very long time.
The High street retailers have been suffering for quite some time and there have been so many casualties.
Must be also allow Debenhams to go under? I know people are free to do as they want but it is up to you the British shopper to save our big names.
Debenhams is a great brand and a great store. It has a brilliant website and the on line shopping experience is very good with various delivery and clock and collect options.
As a man,i discovered Debenhams a few years ago. They have a great range of mens clothing which are good quality and fairly priced.
If you havent looked at Debenhams recently id encourage you to take a look at the website or in store. It may not have been on your radar for a while but it has made great efforts over recent years o provide a great customer experience.

Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..

I could not agree more. We do not want another high street store to go under. Debenhams have a great choice & great sales. Use them quite a lot for myself & my wife.
They are also easy to return if item does not fit or suit you.
If bought online you can return to store, never had any probs. Not like a lot of retailers where you have to repackage & send back at your cost.
Lets back the high street.

I also agree with the two previous posts.
I buy a lot of stuff online including clothes for myself and only this year have started using the Debenhams website. The clothes are modern and well made with brand names you can trust. The prices are very fair.0 -
Yes I like Debenhams as well.
I have a Debenhams credit card which gives me points on my spending which are converted to vouchers to spend in store.
Also get cashback from TCB and Quidco and this can also be converted to vouchers with a bonus to spend either in store or online.
When our children were young we bought most of their clothes from there, great quality.0 -
Well its good to see some support for Great British retail names.
I was just reading the wiki on Debenhams and was amazed at its history, started so long ago as a single shop high street Drapers by Mr Clark in 1778 ,later joined by Mr Debenham in 1813 to form Clark & Debenham and the rest as they say is history.

What has happened to all our well established British businesses? Look at the latest news from John Lewis with profits falling over 90 %.
But where is all the money going? Ive just been into my local town centre and the place is full of shoppers ! People are queuing to get into the car parks !Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). I work in the department store in a small seaside town. Many customers come and ask us if we’re due to close down, but not as far as I know! Since I started, we were always told ‘customer comes first’. Stock can wait, ticketing can wait, if a customer needs help, as a shop assistant, it’s our job to help. In age of self scanning machines,I think that helps the business.0

But presumably these businesses are becoming vulnerable to predators because they are simply not putting enough money through the tills. My personal view is that HoF have not kept up with the times but Debenhams have made great efforts to be progressive.
There must still be value in these businesses otherwise Mr Ashley would not be pursuing them ? If the business was doing much better, the wolves would not be at the door.Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry).
