Happy Birthday - Have a 'taste of some debt'!

My Mrs saw this birthday card on our local high street in a fairly well established greeting card shop (I'll mention no names).
She has, in my opinion, fairly bad taste, so bought it and wrote it for a nephew.
Frankly, I think its a pretty awful card and it seems really odd to link the celebration of someones birthday with the fact they are now old enough to get some debt.
Perhaps this post should be moved to a more general discussion forum, but I thought others might be interested to see it.
Maybe I'm being a bore... but I doubt Martin Lewis would like it.
Feel free to discuss...

I think it is worrying that it lists credit cards and loans. Then mentions debts. May be if those cards were sent to all 20 year olds it might make them think though.Paid off the last of my unsecured debts in 2016. Then saved up and bought a property. Current aim is to pay off my mortgage as early as possible. Currently over paying every month. Mortgage due to be paid off in 2036 hoping to get it paid off much earlier. Set up my own bespoke spreadsheet to manage my money.0

Thing is, this is the reality nowadays, how many 20 somethings post on the credit card and credit file boards asking if they should increase there card liability in order to "improve there credit score".
I cringe whenever i read such posts, the CRA`s have done such a good brain washing job on the young, its unreal, the whole credit bubble thing is so far gone nowadays, everyone is obsessed with credit scores.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards. I think the reason people are obsessed by scores is that it's a black and white answer they can compare against.Savings as of April 2023 Savings account - £26460.50(14474.88)Current account - £2140.24(4576.79)Total - £28600.74(19051.67) £1010 (£65pm CS/BS) £250 CS/BS/JS0

In some ways the card text looks like a sensible warning message - pointing out that a new car or new credit card can lead to debt.0

I've started teaching my kids about debt from a young age. My 6 year old gets £1/ pocket money a week, if she sees something she wants but doesn't have enough she can borrow up to £2 more, but next month has to double back. Wonga ain't got nuthin on me. She's learning!0

Is that really any different from all the many cards that make reference to down sides of getting old?0

My daughter once asked for an expensive jumper which I said she would have to pay for but I would lend her the money. Result she had no money at all during the summer holidays. She never did that again.0

As a paid debt adviser, I'll just chip in to say that I have clients who are aged 18 and 190
