Valuation before underwriting checks?

First time buyer!

05-09-18 - DIP/AIP given.
06-09-18 - Reserved new build
10-09-18 - Broker submitted barclys full application
13-09-18 - message earlier to say valuation is booked for next week

Spoke to the broker, they says that Barclys only requested the docs the other day so they cant imagine theyll have finished the underwriting process already and must be doing the valuation at the same time? is this normal or could they possibly have completed it?

Initial Assessment likely to be done before valuation is instructed, once valuation is back then underwriter will do the final checks before offer

I know the post is old but did you find out the situation? Wether the checks were done first or the valuation?
