High cost of credit

This thread got me wondering

https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/5894274/jacamo-close-or-not

How many more of the N Brown group companies, such as

Jacamo

JD Williams

Figleaves

High and Mighty

and the rest will increase the interest to something like that reported in the above thread - 69.9%?

Also, how many will be pushed into an IVA or DMP as a result, or get hounded by debt collectors and saddled with a CCJ through being unable to either clear the balance or increase payments?

How many will be tempted by increased spending limits and end up being unable to pay?

If a company writes to you with a planned interest rate increase you are able to reject this and close the account. You will then be able to pay the remaining balance at the original rate of interest at the same amount/frequency as before.
