Camcorder for Kids

My son has started using my digital camera to make movies - he's only 9, so he can't do anything too technical, but does anyone know of any camcorders which are quite easy to use which would be easy enough for kids to use. I don't want to spend too much, but at the same time, I don't want to get one which is just a gimmicky kid's one, which doesn't have a very good picture.
I saw the creation station advertised, which looks like it's got some good features, but it can only be used attached to the computer, which is a bit too restrictive.
Any suggestions from anyone?
