AVC for simplicity

Being a bit late to the party and confused about what to do for the best about pension planning, I have a couple of questions.

I am 53 and would love to be able to retire in 10 years ish. My LGPS contributions will result in (currently) £13k p.a @ 67. I also have £65k in existing pru pension.

I am now able to put away about £300 per month, but as there isnt really that much time until retirement should i just keep it simple and stick it in AVC with Pru (LGPS partner) or is there a better way to build an additional pot without loads of palarva and messing about.

I have zero knowledge or experience of investing etc..

Doing something rather than nothing is definitely a good idea, so if it's a case of AVCs now v wondering what to do for absolutely ages...

One point worth considering is how you want to take your retirement benefits. If you contribute to a SIPP, you have much more flexibility - but that isn't always a hugely important consideration. It's what matters to you.
