Halifax account sent to collectors

Hello,
I’ve just joined. Bit nervous about posting but I’m dealing with my debt now. I’ve had a bank account with the Halifax since about 2007, I did get into financial difficulties a few years ago and asked for help to pay off my overdraft and made nominal payments to get the balance cleared but didn’t manage it. Things changed, I moved house and got a better job and I genuinely forgot I had the account with the halifax, until about a month ago when I stopped burying my head in the sand and checked my scores and reports
I got paid a fair amount of back pay today and decided to pay off my overdraft (£1350) with the Halifax and I’ve gone online and it’s disappeared off the online banking system. I’ve rung them and it’s closed and has been sent to a debt collection agency no idea which one, it was only closed last week.
What is the best way to deal with this? Wait until they send a letter and pay it off in one go? Pay it monthly ? Please advise.
Also on checking my credit report today I noted that my credit card and next card account have both gone off my report with no explanation as to what. Both still clearly exist as I’m paying them back slowly but surely
Please help me. I feel relieved just to get this out!

Could it be six years since they were defaulted? All entries disappear 6 years after default.
Your best move would be to wait till someone writes to you then offer them a sum in full & final settlement.
If it's been six years since you last made a payment, the debt is statute barred and you need pay nothing.0 -
The debt collectors will write to you when they get around to it.
